Glossary
Quick definitions for the words this guide uses, grouped by where you meet them.
Naming and matching
- Absolute episode number
- An anime number that ignores seasons (e.g. “Episode 52”). OrgoMedia turns it into the season and episode Plex and Jellyfin expect (S01E52).
- Manual match
- The one-click step where you confirm a title OrgoMedia wasn’t sure about, instead of guessing.
- OVA / ONA / Special
- Bonus anime episodes outside the main run. OrgoMedia files them under Season 0, where your media server expects extras.
- TMDB
- The Movie Database, the metadata source OrgoMedia checks titles, seasons, and episode names against.
Apps OrgoMedia works with
- *arr stack
- A group of free apps (Radarr, Sonarr, Prowlarr…) that automate finding and managing media. OrgoMedia can drive them for you.
- Client
- The app that actually fetches the file. You set it up inside Radarr and Sonarr. OrgoMedia reads release status from those apps rather than connecting to the client directly.
- Indexer
- A searchable catalog the *arr apps query to learn where a title can be found.
- Plex / Jellyfin
- The media servers OrgoMedia connects to: they stream your library to your TV, phone and browser. Emby reads the same file and folder names, but OrgoMedia does not connect to it.
- Prowlarr
- Manages your indexers in one place and shares them with Radarr and Sonarr.
- Radarr
- The *arr app that manages movies.
- Sonarr
- The *arr app that manages TV shows and anime, tracking seasons and episodes.
- TRaSH Guides
- Community-recommended quality settings, applied for you in one click: just connect Sonarr and Radarr.
On your Mac and iPhone
- CloudKit
- Apple’s built-in sync service. OrgoMedia uses it to keep your household’s requests and settings in step across your devices, with nothing for you to run.
- Folder permission
- How OrgoMedia remembers the folders you let it use, so it does not ask again each time it opens.
