How OrgoMedia works

How the Mac app, the iPhone app and the cloud fit together.

Native macOS, native iOS. The Mac app is SwiftUI on macOS 13.0+; the iPhone companion is SwiftUI on iOS 16.0+. No Electron, no Catalyst wrappers, no JavaScript runtimes.

Sandboxed for the App Store. It reads and renames only the folders you pick. Network requests go to OrgoMedia’s own servers (to identify titles and run household features), TMDB (The Movie Database), your own *arr apps and media server, plex.tv if you use Plex, and Apple’s CloudKit. Nowhere else.

Household sync. Household features sync through Apple’s CloudKit and OrgoMedia’s own server. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what that server holds.

Local-first by default. Rename history, statistics, and settings stay on your Mac. Caches are bounded and live only in memory. If you connect Plex or Jellyfin for household features, an index of your library’s titles syncs through OrgoMedia’s server so members can find and open them.
