Users, not caps
Household includes 10 users besides you. That is where a plan starts, not a ceiling: add users whenever your household grows with a one-time pack from Settings → Subscription, without changing plans.

Monthly or yearly
Every paid plan comes monthly or yearly. Paying yearly saves $12.89 on Personal and $25.89 on Household. You can switch between the two from your Apple account, and a plan change takes effect at the next renewal.

The Free plan has no time limit and no rename limit, and needs no credit card. Billing, when you choose to upgrade, runs through the App Store, so you can cancel anytime from your Apple account.
